Unlike cooling gels and heat patches that work only by physical action (cooling or heating the skin), diclofenac works by relieving pain and reducing inflammation at the source. Topical diclofenac penetrates deep into the skin and targets delivery directly to the affected tissue underlying the treated area. Compared with Voltaren Emulgel, Voltaren 12H Gel has double the concentration of the active ingredient diclofenac diethylamine.
